Certified Wireless Analysis Professional Class CWAP
The CWAPª (Certified Wireless Analysis Professional)
certification will advance your career by ensuring you have
the skills to maximize the performance of a wireless network
and reduce the time spent troubleshooting problems. Do something
new for your career today.
CWAP is an advanced level wireless LAN certification for the
CWNP Program.
Benefits of Your CWAP Certification
* Saves you money on costly hardware upgrades by maximizing
your network's performance
* Increases your productivity through the understanding of 802.11
standards
* Reduces the time you will spend troubleshooting problems
* Decreases user complaints by teaching you how to keep your
network running smoothlyWireless LAN Analysis, the preparation
course for the CWAP certification, offers 40 hours of hands-on
learning using the latest enterprise-class wireless LAN analysis
hardware and software. This 5-day course addresses, in detail,
802.11 frame structure and exchange processes, wireless LAN
performance and security analysis, and wireless LAN troubleshooting
This course targets experienced networking professionals who
wish to gain critical, detailed skills in wireless networking
analysis. These skills include an in-depth understanding of
the frame structure of 802.11 frames, frame exchange processes
between wireless nodes, analyzing security solutions for both
effectiveness and weaknesses, analyzing performance in both
pure and mixed-mode environments, and using analyzers for site
surveying and intrusion detection. The analysis course is for
serious IT professionals with a desire to get to the root cause
of any problem or situation in the most expedient manner possible.
Detailed analysis at the physical and data link layers is one
of the most complex tasks that can be performed in the wireless
LAN industry, saved for the industry's elite.

Class Outline:
Students who complete the course will acquire the necessary
skills for analyzing and troubleshooting any wireless LAN system
through a thorough education in the 802.11 frame structure,
frame exchange processes specified by the 802.11 standard, and
extensive hands-on training installing, configuring, and utilizing
five market-leading analysis products::
* AirMagnet
* Network Chemistry
* Network Instruments
* TamoSoft
* WildPackets
* Cognio
* Roving Planet
Students will gain a first-hand understanding of the need for
analysis products, common problems that can be solved using
analysis products, and common features of analysis products.
One unique characteristic about this course is its endorsement
by 90% of the wireless LAN analysis industry's vendors.
Certification: This course may be used -
and is the ideal track - for preparing students for the CWAP
exam (exam # PW0-205), which is delivered at all Prometric Testing
Centers worldwide. The CWAP certification is the first and only
vendor-neutral certification that focuses solely on testing
the IT professional's knowledge of wireless LAN analysis and
troubleshooting.
Prerequisites: The CWNA certification is
recommended prior to attending the CWAP class. CWNA certification
is required before taking the CWAP exam. It is recommended that
all students become familiar with one or more of the hardware
and software solutions that are utilized in the class prior
to attending the CWAP class.
