platform, Expert is one of the industry's most powerful
troubleshooting and management tools.
Organized by OSI layer, Finisar's Expert Plug-In provides
detailed information, packet level decode view, host and
conversation information, and a display filter window
to re-sort a capture.
Selecting a layer to investigate yields a list of specific
symptoms, enabling the user to drill down in many directions
to obtain a wealth of information to perform detailed
analysis to fix the problem.
Users can adjust the threshold values for which most
Expert symptoms are triggered, as well as customize the
text that applies to each Expert diagnosis along with
the recommended corrective action.
Expert can also be customized to the user's specific
environment by inputting knowledge specific to that environment
such as naming conventions.
Because the tool "speaks the language" of their
particular environment, network managers can work more
efficiently when troubleshooting. This allows network
