will speak at the 2008 Technosium Conference held January
29-31 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara,
CA. Mr. Piening will present a one-hour session titled,

Networks,Ó on Wednesday, January 30 from 11:00 a.m. –

Infrastructure track.
In line with this year’s conference theme, Enterprise
IT World and Broadband and Wireless Telecommunications,
Mr. Piening will discuss the most common challenges operational
and IT staff face when managing distributed satellite-based
communication networks remotely and how next-generation
remote management can help reduce the expense and headaches
of supporting remote locations by automating routine maintenance
and recovery, and improve service level agreements (SLA).

Mr. Piening is the VP of marketing for Uplogix who brings
a broad range of marketing and business development experience
from leading technology companies. Most recently, Mr.
Piening served as Senior Director for Symantec where he
led the Global Partner and SMB Marketing teams. Prior
to Symantec, Mr. Piening directed the Dell Global Alliance
for VERITAS Software. His other marketing, sales, and
business development leadership roles include Series A,
pre-IPO, small cap and large public companies like Dell,
DIGEX (now Verizon), and Ernst and Young. Mr. Piening
is a former CPA with an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship
from UNC Kenan-Flagler and a BA in Economics/Business
from UCLA.
